Grandparents and Special Friends Week!

We look forward to welcoming grandparents and special friends onto our campus in May!
Grandparents and Special Friends Week provides an opportunity for our students to showcase all the things they love about their school with people they love. We hold this tradition to give very special members of our community a chance to experience their loved ones' school days.

This year, we will welcome our Grandparents and Special Friends in person for a special assembly, classroom visits, performances, art, and more on Friday, May 12 from 8:30-11:30am. Check in will start at 8:30am, and the opening assembly will start at 9:15am. Guests can enjoy breakfast, an optional tour of the school, or take a commemorative photo during this time. We encourage parents/guardians to coordinate drop-off, using rideshare, or public transportation as parking is limited.

Friday, May 12 is a half-day for students. They will be dismissed at 11:30am. Extended Care will be available at no extra charge and lunch will be provided. Additional details on Extended Care will be provided after Spring Break.

In addition there will be a few virtual opportunities for grandparents and special friends to join us from different corners of the country (and world!). There will be a Virtual Tea with Virginia on Thursday, May 11 and a livestream of the Opening Assembly on Friday, May 12.

This special day is specifically designed for Grandparents and Special Friends. Parents and Guardians who want to participate can help by volunteering to bring a breakfast item, helping serve as a greeter at registration, directing guests through the school, and lending your photography skills. Questions about volunteering can be directed to PGA Lead Elizabeth Arbuckle (elizabeth.arbuckle@gmail.com).
Invitations have been sent via email and traditional mail,  but we do not have contact information for all the grands and special friends in our community. Please pass this message along to anyone you would like to include in this special celebration.

Questions about the event can be directed to Lily Panetta, Database & Events Manager, at lily_panetta@liveoaksf.org
